Welcome to the webinar ‘Metabolic Management in Psychiatry: The Role of GLP-1 and Emerging Agents‘ with Professor Roger Chen.
This webinar will take place on 24 February 2026, at 7 PM (AEDT).
Join leading endocrinologist Professor Roger Chen for a focused webinar addressing one of the major challenges in psychiatric practice – metabolic management.
GLP-1 receptor agonists and other emerging agents provide a potentially useful tool in psychiatric care, not just for weight management but also in addressing the broader metabolic risks associated with antipsychotics.
In this session, Professor Chen will discuss the role of GLP-1 receptor agonists and emerging agents in psychiatric care, particularly in addressing metabolic risks associated with antipsychotics.
- How metabolic dysfunction influences psychiatric outcomes and recovery
- Mechanisms of GLP-1 receptor agonists and which patients benefit most
- Practical prescribing: selection, titration, side effects, and monitoring
- Managing psychotropic-related weight gain, insulin resistance, and dysglycaemia
- Emerging metabolic therapies relevant to mental health practice
This webinar offers an opportunity to strengthen your approach to metabolic management in psychiatry through a clearer understanding of GLP-1 receptor agonists and emerging metabolic therapies.
